Our MTR hotels are all in the Grand Park area of Westfield, Indiana. The Wyndham Westfield will serve as our host hotel and is a highly rated 152 room hotel. The hotel serves as the home of the Indianapolis Colts during their summer training camp. We have been able to secure the entire hotel for MTR. In addition to the Wyndham we have blocks of rooms at the nearby Springhill Suites and the Hampton Inn. We have blocked a little over half of the available rooms in those hotels. In order to secure such large blocks of rooms, we had to agree to relatively early release dates on the rooms. There will be soccer and baseball tournaments going on over Labor Day weekend and the hotels will quickly fill any remaining rooms shortly after our hold is released. We encourage you to book early and consider the host hotel. If you are not certain you are going to be able to make it to MTR, then we would suggest you book at one of the other hotels so that we can hopefully keep the Wyndham for just MTR guests.
Our reservation blocks are generally for Friday 8/29 through Sunday 8/31 however the hotels will honor the rates if you want to come early or stay an extra day. They have advised booking online and, if the system does not recognize the special rate for the extra days, then calling the hotel with your reservation number and they will adjust the rate.
The Wyndham and the Hampton will allow for bike storage in your room. The Springhill Suites does not allow bikes in rooms however there will be a secure storage space available. If you need storage space for your bike please book at the Springhill Suites. Bike storage is limited and intended for oversized bikes only. You may sign up for bike storage while registering for the rally.
Please note that the Wyndham Westfield rates do not include breakfast. There will be a buffet breakfast available for $15 per person per day. This buffet breakfast option will be available through our MTR registration process. Hotel rooms at all three hotels include a mini-fridge, microwave, and coffee / tea maker.
White River Campground
11299 East 234th Street, Cicero, IN 46034 Office Phone 317-770-4430 (Jenny Office Manager), hamiltoncounty.in.gov
15 miles from the host hotel – about a 25 minute drive
Located on 26 acres, the campground stretches along the west bank of the picturesque White River in Hamilton County, Indiana. There are 85 – 30 & 50 amp RV sites (full hook up with a flat concrete pad, fire ring & picnic table), 12 water/electric tent sites and 4 primitive tent sites. They offer a canoe launch, fishing, hiking trails, laundry facility, playground, 2 restrooms, Wi-Fi, water/dump station, a picnic shelter and a shower building. On Saturday 8/30 they are planning a camper cookout with a corn hole tournament. We will attempt to reserve the picnic shelter (when registration opens) for the MTR RVers potluck dinner for Sunday 8/31 from 5-7pm (more details to follow).
The White River Canoe Company offers canoe & kayak adventures. They will pick you up at the shelter by the campground office and transport you to the Lafayette Trace launch for a 6.5-mile paddle back to the campground (2-3 hours). Note: we are thinking of arriving on Wednesday so we can paddle the White River on Thursday. You could also arrive on Thursday and paddle Friday morning.
You can access the Patterson Historic Bridge to cross the river to Strawtown Koteewi Park. This park offers the Taylor Center of Natural History, Koteewi Lake, Aerial Adventures, Horseback riding/rental, Tubing Hill, Archery Range, Boardwalk and 8 miles of crushed limestone non-motorized multi-use Trails (eBikes are ok).
RV Park is 3 miles to downtown Cicero, a lakeside community established in 1835. There is a huge variety of restaurants! The Steven Nation Community Pathway is 10’ wide 2 ½ mile long asphalt trail that runs along the south side of 234th Street from the RV Park to Cicero.
Important Notes: To be ready for opening registration on 1/2/2025 at 9am EST, we suggest checking out their website now and selecting a few spots that might work for the size of your RV. The Manager said that the big RV spots are limited. Each site shows a photo of the site, length of site & concrete pad, if site has water issues, sun/shade, etc. The smaller 30amp sites are in section C with most having a 25’ concrete pad. There is a restroom with running water & flush toilets in this area. The other restrooms & shower facility at the entrance is about a 5-minute walk. There are parking places near the shower building. The camping fees are not expected to change for 2025.
The Manager is encouraging us to set up an account now to get accustomed to using the reservation system, instructions, rules, policies, cancellation information, etc. Search for White River Campground hamiltoncounty.in.gov on the internet and go to their website, then click on Make your Online Reservation!
